Ekka + Khairul – The ‘Legend’ary Reception

Hai guys! Let me continue with Ekka and Gomz’s 2nd posting, the wedding reception, held beautifully at the Grand Ballroom of Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Metrimonized in an ‘english wedding’ atmosphere, the grand reception was smeared with the solemn purity of whiteness.

I started as early as 5pm, covering their preparation at a room, complimentary from Legend Hotel. Done by 8pm, the couple was then ready for the bashing celebration, waiting only for the guest of honor, Malaysia’s former and the most respected Prime Minister of all time, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad with his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah. The honorary guest arrived at 830pm, as punctual as they have always been.

Escorted by cute flower girls and sweet maid of honor, the couple made their grand entrance. First on the bill was ‘Acara Merenjis’ and then the ‘Santapan Diraja’, or the Grand Dinner. After a lively entertainment by a live band followed by a slide presentation of their past time, they were then escorted onto the stage for the cake cutting ceremony. Gomz then made the thank you speech, which he made superbly. They managed to slot in Tun Mahathir’s time for quick photo shoot at the entrance.

I am delighful and honored to be able to record the ceremony, a heartful thank you to the couple for the trust. Congratulations again, Ekka & Gomz.

Ekka + Khairul – Akad Nikah

Early August marked a another busy month for me. Again, I must steal some time to update my blog.

Let me start with the ekka and khairul’s akad nikah ceremony. Kinda weird calling him that. ‘Khairul’ .. ‘Khairul’ .. “sorry dude..I think I’ll use Gomz instead of your real name” Hahahha.

Early morning of 7th August, they held a petite yet simple ceremony, attended by family members, relatives and close friends. Ekka started her day as early as 8 am, graced by the natural touch of Saidatul Nissa, a renown Malaysian celebrity make up artist. Gomz arrived at about 10 am along with his family with the hantaran, bunga telur and the mas kahwin. The Tok Kadi arrived approximately 30 minutes later to commemorate the ceremony and starts the whole processions. Then, after the reps from both sides exchanged welcoming speeches, coupled with a short khutbah from the Tok Kadi himself, the whole atmosphere was then ready for the most anticipated event, the akad. One firm lafaz was all that Gomz recited to Ekka’s father as the wali nikah and the couple was then solemnized as one entity, being the official and legal wedded partner to one another. ‘The Boyz’, Gomz’s best friends cheered with long Alhamdullilah upon witnessing the holy matrimonial. The ceremony then continued with acara penyerahan mas kahwin, menyarung cincin and a sumptuous buffet.

Nonetheless, I take this opportunity to thank the couple for the invitation, most importantly the opportunity to observe such beautiful ceremony. Also, thank you to Sari for helping me out as the second photographer. Enjoy the pictures guys.!!!
